Mudaraba
Mudaraba is a Sharia-compliant arrangement where the bank provides the money and the customer (or business) manages how it is used, and any profit is shared between them based on an agreed ratio.
In this setup, the bank (Rab-al-Mal) provides the funds, while the person managing the investment (Mudarib) uses the funds to generate returns.
In the UAE, Mudaraba is mainly used for investment and business financing, and is not commonly used for standard home finance. Most Islamic mortgages use structures like Ijarah, where the bank (Mu’jir) leases the property to the customer (Musta’jir).
