Labour Card
A labour card is proof that a person is legally employed in the UAE under a mainland company. It shows that the employee’s job is registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE).
In the UAE, companies are either registered in free zones or on the mainland. When a person works for a mainland company, their employment and visa records are registered with MOHRE. The Labour Card is part of that system and confirms that the employee is legally employed under a mainland company. There is usually no physical Labour Card given to employees anymore, as most records are digital. The identification is linked to the employee’s visa and labour contract registered with MOHRE.
Banks consider this information when reviewing a mortgage application, as it helps them understand the applicant's employment when a customer has a golden visa.
